A Desert Place

A few months ago while attending meetings in Nevada I decided to do a little exploring and invited some friends to join me for a Sabbath hike in the Valley of Fire. The contrast to the verdure of the Mid Atlantic was striking, but even in the starkest settings, God is abundant with beauty.

"And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while." Mark 6:31

Wow it's gorgeous! God knew we need places to put aside ourselves and our stuff to be with Him. Nature makes me stop and get rid of the mess of life so I can see God for who He is and what He wants me to be. Thanks for the reminder to do that more often.

That looks really cool! We will have to take a Houmann/Pet&Paul vacation there sometime!
