Norwegian Snow

Two weeks ago we enjoyed the final blast of the season in the winter wonderland of Beitostolen, Norway. What an overwhelming experience! So many things could be written that it wouldn't fit into one post so, here are some highlights: Snow, snow, snow, cross country skiing, blizzard, snow, gourmet meals, lodging in a historic farm house, snow tunneling, snow, the Heibergs, Stave church built in 1250 AD, a 20th century church, a lemming, snow, Norwegian fjord horses, rehab center, biathalon training track, snow diving, skiing at night and did I mention the snow?

A big thank you to the Heiberg family for your wonderful hospitality and a song of praise to you, Lord, for the refreshment you give in the bright snows of winter!

Dad, this is a really good selection of photos. It clearly provides a taste of the joy that pervaded the weekend. In many ways, the entire experience was a glimpse of what heaven will be like. The only thing lacking was poor Paul...

Yes, I'm glad God gives us these experiences of hope and joy. I'm looking forward to them being continuous some day soon.

God is good. The weekend was a blast. Of course it wouldn't be the same without the Houmann family though Per :)! Thanks for coming over. We really enjoyed the visit, and we surely hope you guys will come back soon again. I second with Petra that Paul should come next time too.

The snow is all gone here in Skotselv. The weather this last week has been sunny (not a cloud!) and 15ÂșC (in the shade!). It will stay like that for at least a week and a half. So: That means the season for rollerskiing is here! Tee and I are planning on going up to the mountains and doing regular skiing through Easter-time though, so the crosscountry-skiing-part isn't all over.
